We also offer an intravenous sedation service, performed by our anesthesiologists who will achieve sedation with full control and monitorization of our patients. In this manner, the surgical act becomes almost a pleasant experience where operating time passes without them even noticing it.
We emphasize that intravenous sedation is NOT a general anaesthesia. It achieves patient relaxation, making them feel "sleepy" during the operation. When the surgery is over, it only takes a few minutes for full recovery from the sedation.

Does intravenous sedation involve any risks?
No, since it is not a general anaesthesia it does not require intubation or breathing support. A simple puncture in the arm vein is needed to gain access for the medication into the vascular network. Then the anesthesiologist achieves full control of the sedation with the patient under close surveillance by the monitoring of key vital signs as pulse, blood pressure, oxygen partial pressure, etc.
